CLASSY 'N SASSY EVENT

More than 200 wild, wonderful women celebrated together at Ottawa’s 1st Wild Wonderful Women Classy n’ Sassy Event on November 17 at luxurious Tudor Hall. Organizers of the event, Leona Hamel of Romance Unlimited and Joan Jesion of Just Love Your Life Now!, both Orléans residents, were thrilled that the event sold out, having to increase the number of tickets available from 150 to 208.

It was an evening dedicated to wives, mothers, daughters, mothers-to-be, grandmothers, business women, single women, young women, mature women, wild women, wonderful women ... every woman. Jesion, a Life Coach, explains, “Women today are caught up in trying to balance work, family demands, and life’s daily insanity. This event was about celebrating, indulging, and having fun!” “A night just for you. No guilt … just wild, wonderful fun with wild, wonderful women!” adds Hamel.

Ladies attending the soirée were welcomed upon their arrival with a goody bag and a glass of punch. An hour of browsing and shopping at some classy n’ sassy exhibitor tables followed, before they were treated to a delicious fruit and dessert table. The evening’s festivities continued with live entertainment from diva Alison Wilson of Sugarphyx, a humorous presentation by Joan Jesion, and two fashion shows using models from the audience. The first fashion show focused on the classy theme: handpainted silk designer jackets and T-shirts from Lynne Kiel Fashion Design; and the second, on the sassy, with lingerie from UndercoverWear Inc. Men, of course, were not permitted at the event, except for Tudor’s maître d who made sure to do a disappearing act during the evening’s two fashion shows and final presentation.

Numerous door prizes were awarded during the evening, as well as fabulous raffle prizes with all proceeds from the raffle going to Breast Cancer Action Ottawa … a total of $805 was raised. The evening finished on a sizzling note with a presentation by Kathleen Ladelpha of Sensual Fitness, also a resident of Orléans, and her four volunteers from the audience. Fun was had by all.
